PROGESTERONE

Progesterone is an important sex hormone and is produced in the ovary, adrenal and placenta.  It influences ovulation, fertility, pregnancy and menopause. This test is usually performed on samples taken on the 21st day of a normal 28 day menstrual cycle and adjusted slightly for shorter and longer cycles.
